Things are heating up!!

7/17/2017

Yes, things are definitely heating up... both in the temperature outside and in our season! We are already eating fresh potatoes (bottom left and bottom middle) and super sugar snap peas (bottom right) and they are delicious. Everything seems to be early this year...no doubt due to the very warm temperatures outside. Great for growing!! Our Atlantic Giant Pumpkins (upper middle) are growing leaps and bounds and flowering (upper left), and all the beans are also flowering (upper right) and we expect to be eating beans soon ...can't wait!

The two pictures of potatoes you see there are two different sizes, as you can tell. We have tried an experiment this year by putting some of the potatoes under mulch to see if it will make a difference. Already, there is a significant size difference...the ones you see on the left were planted under mulch two weeks later than the ones on the right and are much larger already! The only drawback seems to be that there are fewer potatoes growing under the mulch.

Stay tuned...
