Anthenum graveolens
Hera Dill is a highly productive variety.  Plant height averages 61 cm (24") and it produces feathery blue-green foliage that is held on short stalks with exceptional aroma and flavor.  Good disease resistance.  It is a later bolting variety, about 2 weeks later than Bouquet Dill.  Dill provides a great beneficial-insect habitat in the garden and can reseed prolifically. Dill is used in many pickling recipes as well as in seafood, soups, sauces, and potatoes.

Planting Instructions:   
  • Sow seeds directly after the last frost, or sow in June when cucumbers are transplanted, to coincide maturity for pickling.  Dill tends to bolt if transplanted, so it is best direct sown. Stagger your harvest by sowing every 2-3 weeks for a constant supply of fresh leaves.   Sow seeds no more than 5mm (⅛ - ¼") deep in rows 45cm (18") apart. Thin the plants to stand at least 15 cm (6") apart.  Sow seeds directly after the last frost. Dill has a naturally low germination rate; 60% is typical. Seeds can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost, but dill does not like to be transplanted. It is best left alone once established.
  • Soil Conditions:  Well worked loose soil.  Dill grows well in rich, well-drained soils, but can grow in very marginal soils. It prefers full sun and heavy water.  
  • Planting Depth: 5 mm (1/8″-1/4”)
  • Germination: 7-21 Days (Dill has a naturally low germination rate; 60% is typical)  Temperature: 16-22 C (60-70 F) 
  • Height At Maturity: 90-150 cm (3′-5′)
  • Days To Maturity: 55-70 Days​
Additional Information
Open pollinated-untreated seeds.  Harvest leaves as soon as the plant is large enough. Gather flower umbels when most of the flowers have opened. Leave some flowers to develop into seed and harvest them when they have turned a brownish-tan.
